People were escaping from the mansions of the nobles. The black hill was slowly spreading towards them, so the servants working for the nobles were in a panic. When they first heard the explosions in the plaza, they had gathered inside because the mansions were usually protected by black magic shields. But the sound of something breaking was heard, and the Huayans mansion disappeared as a black hill emerged that turned everything in its path black.
The black hill was not exactly a hill. It was a body with countless black eyes everywhere in it. The eyes were constantly moving in different directions. One person was frozen in fear as he saw that black monster. But someone in red pulled him back. Another person who seemed to be a mercenary was besides him. Mercenaries and people in unknown uniforms were helping in evacuating the people.
Someone screamed out, “Bishop Dust!” and Dust could be seen approaching the black monster. He prayed some words, and a red aura arose from him. The monster’s countless eyes all turned to him. Dust gave instructions to the church members as he held his sword that had a red aura. He swung it towards the black monster.
Dust was the second strongest after the pope, but even his power could only leave a 1 meter wound on the monster that was hundreds of meters in size. However, the wound did not recover, so Dust shouted to the church members to use the Fire of Purification on it. However, black smoke rose from the monster. It was poisonous dead mana.
Dust thought that they had made a wrong decision. When the hunters had fled to the Huayans mansion, the church members and the mercenaries had gathered here to fight. But that was a mistake. The hunters had suddenly killed their allies, including the servants and the soldiers, as they shouted out words of dedicating their karma. Soon, that black monster soared from the mansion’s basement and began to devour everything.
Someone snapped him out of his thoughts. It was the pope who had such an immense red aura rising from her. She summoned a thin red wall that blocked the black smoke. The monster’s eyes looked at the wall before turning into a different direction. The pope told Dust that the monster moved to where there were signs of life. So it was now heading to the Imperial Palace where a lot of people were gathered.
The bishops and priests surrounded the monster and tried to stop it from moving, but the black monster looked like it was going to break the wall. The church members supported the pope in maintaining the red wall. Someone desperately asked on when the Purifier coming because cracks had now appeared on the red wall. The pope frowned as her power was insufficient to stop that monster.
The red wall eventually broke and the monster continued to grow. The gates of the Imperial Palace were opened as people were rushing out, but there was not enough time. Black smoke rose from the countless eyes, and it reminded the pope of the dead mana fog in the contaminated lands. If that spread in the air, numerous people would die.
But then, she saw a black bone dragon flying towards the monster, descending to the ground and trying to stop the monster from moving. The black monster attempted to devour the huge bone dragon, and the bone dragon struggled. The pope realized that it was the necromancer helping them. However, the black monster suddenly stopped moving.
The monster’s numerous eyes all turned into one direction, and the pope followed its gaze. And she gasped when she recognized a familiar figure. The Purifier was now here. She felt a chilling sensation and looked up the sky. Something destructive could be felt from above. Red lightning then struck the black monster, and everyone’s sight turned red.
The black monster screamed for the first time. The red light faded, and the pope could see the black monster curled up inside something like a shield. She had goosebumps all over her body, but she was smiling. The church members, the Agents of Destruction members, and the people could all see what had happened. They were trembling, but they were filled with hope and belief.
The rose gold light could be seen through the gray clouds. The pope said that it was beginning, and glanced at the Purifier who was standing atop a nearby building that had not collapsed. Raon remarked that the numerous eyes looked repulsive as the eyes had all turned to Cale at once. Raon then told Cale to stop smiling so much, or rather, to stop smiling like that.
But Raon cautiously asked Cale if he was really sure that he wouldn’t faint and cough blood. Even though Raon had made that smile earlier, he still did not believe Cale’s words, so he had asked that question again. A small laugh escaped from Cale’s mouth, and Raon asked him to answer and not laugh like that.
Cale’s hand had a rose gold lightning rising from it. He replied to Raon that he won’t faint or cough blood. At that moment, his hand moved up and then swung down. The rumbling of the sky stopped, and rose gold light broke through the gray clouds. It was not fast and did not strike like lightning. The numerous lights emerged one by one, becoming a pillar of light as it fell down.
It was as if an aurora was descending to the ground as a circular pillar. It looked seriously beautiful, but no one reached out their hands towards that light. Because their instincts told them that it contained a terrifying power despite its immense beauty. 1
