Chapter 58 – Concealment

[Concealment].

By using this skill, we could freely rewrite the status information displayed in the status screen.

But it doesn’t mean the actual attack power increased by 10 times even if it was rewritten to 10000 from 1000. The purpose of using this skill was limited to concealing the actual status information when showing to the others.

Because when people show their status to the others, they could select what they wanted to show like:

・Name only

・Name and level only

・Name and skill only

However, it’s still not possible to conceal some of the information that was shown even if we selected one of those options.

For example if your level was 1000, you cannot hide the rightmost ‘0’ and make your level 100 and if you have [Body Reinforcement] and [Beginner Magic], you cannot conceal [Body Reinforcement] and show only [Beginner Magic]. But the one that makes it possible to do so was [Concealment].

…. Someone who has a good intuition likely understands how dangerous this skill was.

By creating a fake status screen using [Concealment], it was possible to deceive others easily. You could pretend to be a low-level adventurer to sneak into a lower-rank party and take their possessions or different from that, you could pretend to be a high-level adventurer and parasitize other parties.

For that reason, it was basically prohibited to acquire [Concealment].

Even so, in reality, there was no way to know which adventurer possessed [Concealment] in the first place. And besides, merely possessing it was not a crime.

In exchange, the punishment one could get if a criminal act using [Concealment] was found would be several times heavier than normal.

From now on, I plan to repeatedly capture other C-rank dungeons in order to increase the number of dungeons I conquered.

However, I still had no choice but to enter through the gate at the first challenge of a dungeon I have never stepped in as [Transfer Within Dungeon] couldn’t be used in that condition. And at that time I was sure they would be suspicious if they found out that my level was clearly inappropriate for a C-rank dungeon.

Because even if they could be deceived for once or twice without using [Concealment], my level-up speed would be known to the surroundings if I repeatedly showed my status like that.
